SWNI
Looking back at 2007
Submitted by Ginny Stromer on December 20, 2007 - 9:17am. SWNINow is the time many of us reminisce about the year that has just fallen into the past, and wonder about what the new year will bring. Here, at the friendly SW Neighborhood office, I’ve pulled out all twelve 2007 issues of the SW Neighborhood News to jog my memory of the past year’s community events here in SW Portland and the issues that affected us. The gist of it is that a lot of good and productive stuff happened. Some of it--and here is where the tooting of one’s own horn occurs--was facilitated by SWNI (Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc.). But much of it was initiated and done by individuals and various friends’ groups. Congratulations to all of you.

SWHRL Boundary Issue
A record of the Southwest Hills Residential League (SWHRL) and Bridlemile neighborhood boundary overlap.
2004
The SWHRL Neighborhood Association filed a grievance with ONI regarding the overlapping boundaries it shares with Bridlemile, Homestead, and Hillsdale neighborhoods. ONI asked the neighborhoods to consider mediation; Bridlemile, Homestead, and Hillsdale agreed to mediate, but SWHRL chose not to mediate and have ONI decide the issue. When ONI decided against SWHRL, SWHRL filed a lawsuit against the City.
