We are taking registrations for the CPR For Friends and Family Class for interested neighbors in our Collins View Neighborhood. CPR For Friends and Family is a two-hour class, taught by Portland Firefighters. There is no charge. The class is NOT for certification. It is not for job requirements. It is a class designed for us to help our own friends and family and neighbors in an emergency.

Council Crest Radio Tower Open House

Description:
This year, the City of Portland will start work to replace the radio transmission tower at Council Crest Park. The new tower will be nearly the same height as the existing tower and will be erected right next to it. After construction, the old tower will come down and the materials will be recycled. Construction is scheduled to begin in early September 2008 and be completed by Nov. 1, 2009.

  • The Self-Sustainability Forum: Preparedness, Self-Reliance & Relocalization
    This new pavilion is focused on strengthening communities, self reliance, and preparedness. Concepts include neighborhood building, relocalization, food production & organic gardening, food preservation, alternative energy and modes of transportation, emergency readiness, rainwater collection, outdoor survival equipment global warming action, post carbon planning, and other related ideas.
Cost:
$3.00 suggested donation that will benefit The ReBuilding Center.
