Dear Neighbor,
As you were growing up, you were asked: “What do you want to be?” Was your dream to be a community volunteer? Most likely not, but many folks in our community improve their neighborhoods through volunteer efforts. Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc. is a nonprofit coalition of 16 Southwest Portland neighborhoods. Our mission is to empower citizen action to improve and maintain the livability of southwest neighborhoods.
Through our free monthly newsletter, we keep residents informed on issues and activities in their community. A Calendar of Events is listed in the newsletter. Be sure to mark your calendars, so you don’t miss the events that interest you.
Our contract with the City of Portland does not cover the cost of the Southwest Neighborhood News, which is sent free to residents who have requested it. In order to keep you informed, we are asking you, our readers, to send a contribution to help defray expenses of printing and mailing. So many of you have been very generous year after year and we are again counting on your generosity. If you have never contributed, please consider it now. If everyone who receives this newsletter sent in a small contribution, we would recover our costs.
