A preliminary roadway design has been developed for SW Capitol Highway, from SW Multnomah Boulevard to SW Taylors Ferry Road. The design is a hybrid of designs shown at the first open house in July. It reflects the public’s desire for a balance between minimizing the width of the street and providing for safer walking and bicycling as well as improved stormwater management. Please join us at this second open house and provide us your thoughts on the preliminary roadway design and how best to solve site-specific issues.

The 1996 Capitol Highway Plan provided the starting point for this refinement plan, which will include multi-modal transportation improvements and stormwater management. Your input will help the Project Team and the Citizen Advisory Committee develop the final roadway design.
