Producing Multimedia for Your Community
In this six-session workshop, participants will work as part of a team to develop a documentary field production about the Multnomah Center. The completed projects will be distributed by SWNI and PCM. Participants will learn to tell a story using video, conduct interviews in the field, learn the fundamentals of field audio, camera operation, and how to edit with Final Cut Pro.

This workshop will be conducted by:
Phoebe Southwood was initially trained as an Ethnographic Documentary Film Maker at UC Berkeley in the mid 90’s. She holds an M.A. in Multimedia Studies from Cal State East Bay, her thesis being a collaborative educational, interactive TV pilot. She’s also a recent graduate of the Portland Actor’s Conservatory Professional Actors Training Program.
Scott Hillier is an award winning multimedia editor and producer with over 10 years experience working for both local and national organizations including the Portland Japanese Gardens, the Portland Trailblazers, Simmons College, Tufts University, the Anchorage Museum of History and Art and on productions that have aired on HGTV, Bravo and OPB. Scott also has over 8 years of multimedia training experience at Boston Neighborhood Network and Portland Community Media and has a passion for community media and youth media programs.
